Another Day in Porto

In our attempts to make up for wallet-gouging London, we decided to go on a fruit and pastry diet, since both are cheap and tasty here. Today was a day filled with tours, the 3 for 1 package. We started with a cruise down the DÔuro River on this beautiful sunny day (about 25 C). Next we toured one of Porto´s many wineries (Ramos Pinto) and enjoyed some free samples. However, we discovered that small bits of fruit and pastry are no match for the extremely delicious and alcoholic port wine. We were total amateurs and everybody knew it by the way we laughed too loud and occassionally shouted at each other at close proximity. Last but not least, we took a bus tour of Porto. Porto has become a bit of a homey place to us already. We´ve discovered a great roast chicken place right next to our comfy and cheap hotel. They´ve even started giving us little extras on the side now, and we can almost just ask for ¨the usual¨. Even though we leave Porto tomorrow for Coimbra, we will always remember it´s warmth, and of course, it´s wine! It´s not all good and tasty here though. Other popular menu items include (english translations) stewed gizzards, pigs ears and/or octopus with onion and parsely sauce, roasted smoked park sausage, and hot gogs.

Kelsey!
Portugal is gorgeous! If you can make it to Lagos, do so, the Algarve's grotto-rich beaches are stunning there! Love the pics, bringin' back lots of my own honeymoon memories! Keep on keepin' it real!
