We're Getting Married IN 3 DAYS!

Hi World,
We're getting married at the David Thompson Resort at 2 pm on July 21, 2007. We're going to be posting as much info and news, photos, maps, lists etc as possible to help you get set for the wedding. Stay posted, we might add some funny stories or trivia.

Preparations are underway!

Plans are coming together nicely. Most of the invitations are sent, and the big pieces are in place. The girls have their dresses. The boys have their suits. Flowers are planted and thriving for the wedding day. A playlist is being carefully crafted for the dance. Group sites are being blocked off for you to camp or RV with us.

The Vision:

We'll be set up for camping at the site by Wednesday, July 18th, and we're hoping that lots of you will join us for some hiking/story telling/washoo playing/general relaxing. The scenery in the David Thompson area is spectacular, so please come help make the occassion special. The ceremony will be outdoors, on a ridge overlooking Abraham Lake. (Ladies, flat soled shoes are a must due to the rugged terrain.) There will be live musicians and fresh mountain air. The reception will be on site in what's called "The Belledome", followed by a rockin' dance and then some cozy croonin' by the camp fire. On Sunday we'll have brunch together (with whoever is still there) before we take off on our "marry" way! On the 22nd, the Lawson crew is headed 10 minutes down the road to Two O'Clock Creek for more camping. Again, the more, the merrier.

Wedding Info & Details

There are a few options for accomodation, both at the David Thompson Resort and in Nordegg (45 km east of DTR on Hwy 11). Please make your own arrangements and reservations for a place to stay. If you'd like to camp in a group site on Friday and Saturday night with us (that is what WE'D like you to do; the more the merrier!!) at DTR, just indicate that to them when you call to make your reservation. The cost for one tent/trailer in the group site is $20/night. Also, please let us know where you plan to stay. (FYI, the group site is unserviced, meaning no hookups for water/power. There are serviced sites as well, and if you plan to use one, please ask to be put close to the group A site.)

Having you at our wedding is the greatest gift you can give us. If you do choose to gift further, we would appreciate your creative ideas or travel money in our wishing well. If you're stumped, we're also registered at Canadian Tire. PS, Kelsey really likes stuff from Pier 1!

Plans for Next Year
We've bought our tickets! We're leaving Edmonton on September 7th at 7pm and plan to return to Canada on June 17th. In between, we'll be visiting England, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Australia and New Zealand! We'll hopefully see lots of you in August to spend some time visiting before we leave on a jet plane!
