Our New House!
We're not giving props to Val Read here. We moved in on August 29th. Well, lawn chairs, thermarests and toothbrushes anyway.
Kelsey's lil sis, Carla, helped warm the place up with a nice meal on the bed-box table.
Stan and Louise made sure we could see the neighbours.
Combining the homes of two formerly single adults into one is an exercise in compromise. We each had a truck and trailer full of stuff. After traveling and living light, we actually don't have much trouble letting go of 'that old stack of Reader's Digest' or 'that lamp that just needs a new base and shade'.
This is all we need. (the family, not the mullet)

Rachelle and Dave's Wedding
Ty's sister got married this summer. It was a great day in southern Alberta at their place near Lomond, which is near Vulcan, which is near Lethbridge-ish? Lethbridge is not really near anything.

Sorry for the 2 months sans-blog. After the laptop was stolen we were busy house shopping and moving. We both have started new jobs as well. Ty's teaching at a new-to-him Jr. High school and is re-connecting with long lost bandmates. (Gig this Saturday at The Carrot on 118th Ave - 94 St.) Kelsey is now an education programmer at the Telus World of Science. EVERYTHING IS CHANGING!
We'll tell you more about our house soon, and our great neighborhood.

A year already...

We made it! It was our first anniversary on Monday and although we are in a major transition period right now it was still a great day.

We had sparklers in our spumoni at The Old Speghetti Factory, although I wasn't quick enough with the camera and so it looks like a stick.  And we walked all around our special Edmonton spots.

In honour of our anniversary, we decided to show you some of the "never seen before" behind the scence type picures from our wedding:

Tyrn's Birthday...Finally!

HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY, TY!!!!
Unfortunately, I went to work the night that Ty turned old and so I haven't had a chance to tell our blog world yet. Please forgive my lateness Tyrn and I hope your celebration lasts the whole year through!

Ty cleaned up on presents this b-day.  I also found out that he is quite the sleuth where presents are involved and so I will have to be much sneakier next year.
30 and still looking FINE!
After Tyrn's birthday we have had a whirlwind of adventures, here is the summary:

My family all met at the Ponoka Stampede for a day of family fun on the midway and betting on the chuckwagon races.
Ty is trying to beat the odds and climb the carnie ladder to claim his prize.
Not quite as easy as it looks!
My bro Kevin and my mom "scrambling" it up.
My sis Carla, Mary and I working it as well.  I actually had just nailed Carla in the head with my right arm, it is crazier than you think!

Tyrn has taken a keen interest in car stuff since we have been home.  He is constantly working on his bike or the car, doing manly type stuff!
We were just at a b-day party for our friends Andrew, Katie, Sarah and Kari- the theme is rock star, see if you can list the following stars...
Rich & Tyrn as.....
Matt & Carissa as...
Jon & Sarah as....
Andrew as....
Naomi rocking out as...
Tyrn doing his best rockstar impression while playing guitar hero.

Mary and Craig came down to camp at Elk Island and we tried crashing the party.
Last, but not least, our very good friend Anna is leaving soon to teach in Singapore for 2 years.
We are super excited for her and can't wait to come and visit!!  Good luck, Anna.
